Sustainability

Advanced medical technology with a global health impact

At Neola Medical, we see our role as contributing to a more sustainable future. Our long-term approach to sustainability is centered on the development of our medical device, Neola®, across three key areas: economic, environmental, and social responsibility. By combining cutting-edge innovation with a strong sustainability perspective, Neola Medical aims to meet critical clinical needs in neonatal care while also helping to build a healthier and more sustainable future.

Economic responsibility

Neola Medical strives to combine innovation and quality with economic responsibility to advance the development of sustainable medical technology solutions. By creating long-lasting and resource-efficient products such as Neola®, we aim to streamline healthcare delivery, reduce costs for providers, and support a more sustainable healthcare system.

Environmental responsibility

Neola Medical is committed to minimizing environmental impact by developing innovative and resource-efficient products. By creating solutions that require fewer resources and less energy, we aim to contribute to more sustainable healthcare while strengthening its market competitiveness. At the same time, Neola Medical sees strong potential to meet healthcare’s increasing demands for environmental responsibility and efficiency.

Social responsibility

Neola Medical is committed to advancing safer and more accessible healthcare by developing technologies that meet the highest regulatory and ethical standards. Our ambition is to improve patient safety and well-being, support healthcare professionals through more efficient workflows, and contribute to better global neonatal care for the most vulnerable patients — preterm born babies in need of intensive care.

Goals for sustainable development

Based on the UN Agenda 2030 framework, Neola Medical has identified four global sustainability goals and sub-targets where the company sees a clear connection to its operations and the greatest potential to make an impact. By continuing to advance its efforts in these areas, Neola Medical strives to contribute to sustainable development while creating value for both society and future generations. Read more about our goals and sub-targets in the annual report of 2024 (in Swedish).

Sustainability in a sector defined by high safety standards

Neola Medical operates in a sector where strict safety requirements are essential to protect patient health and safety, but these requirements can also limit the ability to use environmentally friendly materials and methods. The short lifecycle of medical products and the uncompromising focus on safety present challenges at a time when healthcare increasingly demands sustainable solutions.

At the same time, opportunities exist to reduce environmental impact through sustainable production processes, recyclable packaging, and more efficient distribution. By combining innovative materials with rigorous safety standards, Neola Medical sees the potential to extend product lifecycles and reduce resource consumption. Collaboration with healthcare providers further enhances both patient safety and efficiency by integrating medical technology solutions into clinical workflows — strengthening competitiveness while advancing sustainable and innovative healthcare solutions.
